Dream #5

Summary:
I'm in a church or, some assembly like it. When it's over we're all exiting through halls when I spot Harrison Ford trying to leave from a back door. He is wearing a suit with an Indiana Jones bag strapped across him. I happened to be wearing my bag as well. When I stopped him I noticed his bag was different from mine, he saw mine and was like "wow, you have an original, I couldn't find one of those as a replacement." We wend on talking about the ins and outs of the bag for quite some time before we went back into a sort of library room where he was very informative about what was going on in his life and so on. He was so impressed with me, for whatever reason, that he wanted to exchange contact information.
After we parted, some time passed, and I ended up calling him. He invited me over to his place I suppose where he had a team of amateur filmmakers assembled that he was financially supporting. He asked me to be on the team...I agreed hastily. The only person on the team that I recognized was"Chris Baker" and there was much insanity. When I woke up I was cheesed off that I hadn't actually been discovered.
Influences:
I had a dream a few days back in which I was at a dinner honoring Harrison Ford. That's the only place I can figure he came from. I also heard a story of Abraham Lincoln sneaking into the back of a Presbyterian church last night, so perhaps that's where the idea of famous people in church came from. I actually do have that Indiana Jones bag, and I wear it to church with my Bible in it quite often. I can't explain what Chris Baker was there other than to say that I read his blog a couple of days ago and was fascinated by his stories of working on an actual shoot. I don't actually know him at all, but my cousin David does, and so does my friend Katie Mac from Caswell. In all honesty...this is a retarded dream...sigh

Dream #4

Summary:
The location is hard to describe. Imagine a wide grassy field that runs in a circular path around a big rock that juts out of the ground. So, a wide field that runs around the rock. On the outside of one side of the circle is a hill, or cliff that, at the top, overlooks the ground below. The dreams starts with me at the base of the hill with the field in front of me. I walk across the field to the base of the rock formation in the middle and there I find a swoop bike from Star Wars Ep. 2. There were two actually. For those of you that don't know Star Wars, a swoop is kind of like a motorcycle that floats just above the ground. The interesting thing is, the bikes were just a man-made illusion/gadgets, and in the dream I knew this. Just like in the real world there are "light sabers" that are lights in plastic tubes. It's supposed to look like the real deal, but isn't. So they were just cool gadgets, they had hidden wheels or something and ran off batteries. I hopped on one and was surprised to find that it really gave the sensation of floating while on it. I assumed it was an innovative shock absorbency system. As I'm flying around the grassy field, all of the sudden, there are children everywhere. They are cheering for me like crazy and they're so amazed by the gadget I'm on. A little later on, my RA, Bob is there. He can't stop raving about how cool it is stating that it's one of the coolest things he's ever seen.
Eventually I take it around to the far side of the field, (farthest away from the base of the hill with the cliff) and there I meet my roommate from last year's roommate from his first year. He's a guy I don't know very well and his name is Stack. He currently has very long hair but in the dream he had just gotten it cut and didn't know if he liked it. After the chit chat he got on my bike and I was left walking as we traveled to the other side where I found the bikes. I was eager to get back there so we could both have them and really impress the people over there. There was a passageway through the middle of the rock, which we took to get to the other bike...if you remember I found them at the base of the center rock.
Once we got there I hopped on and he informed me that Roach, my old roommate, had been riding it uphill a lot, so the battery was probably almost dead. Of course, after riding it around a little, I discovered that it was struggling to move well, and since everyone was gone from the field, I suggested that we go up the cliff. We took our swoops as far up as we could before there were too many boulders to go any further, at which point we began climbing.
At the top there was an observatory deck, and we were a good long ways up...as high as a big foothill. I jokingly dared Stack to jump into the lake below...which was the lake at Busch gardens that happens to be under The Loch Ness Monster roller coaster (this is another random location modification which seems to happen a lot in dreams.) He chuckled and informed me that he'd already done it, but not into the lake. He said that he had jumped off the deck and, basically cross body checked one of the visitors to the park.
Influences:
Recent release of the third Star Wars movie and perhaps the fact that I played with my light saber last night could have contributed to the Swoops being there. The gleeful children and the enthralled Bob I attribute to Bob's similar reaction in real life to Matt's Batman costume which I wore to give a speech in two weeks ago. The appearance of Stack likely has to do with the fact that I walked behind him yesterday on chancellor's walk, taking special notice of his L.L. Bean Backpack that had his last name "Stackhouse" embroidered on it. The only other thing I can source is the random appearance of Busch Gardens where the field was supposed to be. That's probably because I went to Busch Gardens weekend before last.

Introduction and Dreams #1-3

Introduction:
As stated above this is a resting place, though perhaps not the final one, for many of my dreams. I hope that I can continue to call up memories from the dark of the night in order to finally put them in the light where all will see. Some of the more terrifying ones may seem quite amusing now but please, be gentle with me. I will split my dream reviews into three parts. The first part, summary, gives a short synopsis of the dream and anything I can remember about happening in it. The second part, influences is where I give any back story or information needed to understand the dream a little better, such is why I think I dreamed the way I did. The final part, overall mood, is where I will tell you the general feeling I had during the dream.
Oh, and one more thing! You have a part in this as well. I welcome you to leave your "analysis" in the form of a comment underneath the post.
The dreams are presented in the order that they occurred. These first three are recent, but I'm not positive on the dates other than the third one, which occurred last night.
...dream on

Dream #1
Summary:
I'm in a class, presumably on campus here at UNCW, and it looks like a computer lab of some sort. On my keyboard is a Wal*Mart bag with 3 DVDs in it. My professor is famed filmmaker Tim Burton. Professor Burton was sitting in a roll type computer chair next to a podium in the middle of the room with his head in his hands looking like he needed a cigarette. I was nervous about doing it but I finally worked up the courage. I walked up to him and asked him to sign my copy of the DVD for "The Shining." He signed it apathetically and I happily went back to my desk where I put in back in the bag. I then had to leave the room for some reason. When I returned, to my dismay, my DVDs were gone as if someone had stolen them. I asked Professor Burton for help but I don't believe he cared very much.
Influences:
Earlier the night before I had been discussing Stanley Kubbrick's film, "The Shining" with my roommate Devin. Some time before I had either thought of, or talked with Devin about how my friend Matt from back home had gotten a signed photo of Tim Burton. One of the professors I'm going to be signing up to have this coming semester is Frank Capra Jr., director of Screen Gems Studios here in Wilmington and son of "It's a Wonder Life" director, Frank Capra. Somehow I think this all got mixed in. I just find it hilarious that I asked Tim Burton to sign a movie he didn't make.
Overall Mood:
Frustrated.

Dream #2
Summary:
I've lost a lot from this dream since I actually had it, but I'll dish out what I have. The world was being taken over my 3 foot tall aliens and there was nothing we could do about it. The aliens looked exactly like "classic" ones, but short. They had big heads and big eyes and were green. They wore purple jacket suits with gold trim and carried around 1950s style lazer pistols. When they shot you, you disintegrated. For some reason, noone was fighting back. We just sat around like we were on house arrest, too terrified to go outside. At one point I was walking outside a building and a missile flew out of the roof, whirly gigged around in the air, and hit the ground very close to me. I assumed the creatures had found a secret military installment and were toying with it.
Influences:
On a message board I was on the night before, a guy had an avatar that was a spinning alien head. I commented on it. The rest I blame on the film "Signs" because there was a helpless feeling like you felt in that movie.
Overall Mood:
Nervous Fear

Dream #3
Summary:
Back home there is a gas station that everyone goes to called Dunn's Gas and Grocery, or Roy Dunn's. In this dream I was at an old version of this gas station that was down the road from the new one. (In reality, the new one has just been remodeled.) I believe my whole family, was with me, though specifically the only people I can remember are my Mom and my girlfriend Caroline. The "Old Roy Dunn's" was in a condemnable state, but everything looked like a sad version of what it once had been. My grandfather on my mother's side had several trinkets from his life stored in dusty piles in there. We were sorting through it. I found a GIANT bottle of whisky. Caroline leaned over and sniffed it, then so did I. As we were walking out of the room my mom proudly proclaimed something along the lines of "I could take a shot of that, no problem." Wanting her to put her money where her mouth was, I poured her a shot and we walked over to the sink, (at this point the sink was a run down version of the kitchen at my house before it was remodeled, don't ask me how the two locations combined.) Mom sipped it slightly then spewed it all out, declaring it to be a bit too much for her.
Influences:
I don't know how I started dreaming about Dunn's but I think once it happened the rest can make sense. As a child my grandfather would always ride me to Dunn's on his little electric scooter for snacks. Naturally, the way Dunn's used to look will always be ingrained in my mind with these memories. My grandfather also used to work at an ABC store, which is the only way I can figure the whisky cam into play. I'm not even sure that's why. No clue why Caroline was there or why mom so boldly declared she would swig it, when she couldn't.
Overall Mood:
Nostalgic
